24 Hour Positioning
Pressure areas can rapidly develop and require regular changes of position to reduce the risk of
developing a pressure injury. Long periods in the same position and the effects of gravity on the
body can lead to shortening of tendons and fixed changes to posture over time. This in turn, can
impact on function, independence, and the ability to be comfortably seated to allow for activity or
social participation.
