FIM Score
The Functional Independence Measure (FIM) score is a widely utilised assessment tool in both
rehabilitation and care environments. It assesses an individual’s level of disability and the amount of
assistance needed to carry out basic activities of daily living.
With a standardised scale that spans from 1 (Complete Dependence) to 7 (Complete Independence),
FIM serves as a reliable tool for consistently enabling the comparison of rehabilitation outcomes across
various parts of the healthcare spectrum.
